Engineer Zhang once observed an incident at a cement company: improper operation damaged the slide shoe liner of a Φ3.8×13m slide shoe mill in the cement grinding system, which forced a full replacement of the slide shoe liner.

In response to such problems, how should we properly maintain the slide shoe bearings of cement mills?
According to Engineer Mr. Zhang, slide shoe bearing maintenance should focus on 4 key areas:
1. Closely monitor the temperature change of slide shoe liners
If the temperature of the slide shoe liner exceeds the standard limit, perform these checks:
- Inspect the oil spray volume and direction of the lubrication pipe; ensure oil reaches the slide shoe surface and no oil holes are blocked.
- Check the pressure, flow rate and oil quality of the thin oil lubrication station. Increase oil viscosity if insufficient; replace with new oil, clean the oil tank, and clean or replace the filter element if oil is contaminated.
- Examine the cooling system. Expand the cooling area if cooling capacity is inadequate.
- Verify the contact condition of the copper clamp plates.
- Check the contact surface between the slide shoe liner and the slide shoe; re-scrape and lap if contact is poor.
2. Regularly inspect key components and connecting bolts
Check the condition of critical parts and fastening bolts on a scheduled basis to ensure stability and reliability.
3. Frequently inspect the sealing condition of slide shoes
Confirm the normal operation of oil scraper brushes and the sealing performance at both ends. Adjust or replace sealing parts when necessary.
